Out of damp and gloomy days, out of solitude, out of loveless words directed at us, conclusions grow up in us like fungus: one morning they are there, we know not how, and they gaze upon us, morose and gray. Woe to the thinker who is not the gardener but only the soil of the plants that grow in him.
Friedrich Nietzsche

Good and wise words by Nietzsche, Flower Shadow. We all need to tend to the gardens of our mind and keep them neat and in order. For what have we got if we have a disorderly mind. Everything we do will be disorderly and in return we will be paid back by life in a disorderly non agreeable way. www.thegodlight.co.uk

I agree with the above comments....but I also read it in a different way..to me it speaks of being isolated..that in being isolated we receive no stimulation.no imput from interaction with others..like minded souls..or completely our opposites..it is so important to be open minded and to embrace our differences..if we do not....our soil..is dull and lifeless..what we need to do is enrich the soil, by welcoming inspiration and creativity and love and light and energy, into our lives...in doing this we ensure that the flowers of our mind are fruitful and make us happy.
