Dreams that stick in your mind

I have two dreams that have never gone away. These were some weeks ago but I can't seem to get them out of my mind. I'll relate one here in this post and the other in a different post.

This was something of a disturbing dream to me. I'm in this town that's dirty and rundown. There's a car all rusted on the street and the people are wearing dirty, wrinkled clothing. They all look really creepy. I have this fully formed baby complete with a diaper that fit in the palms of my hands. I was protecting the baby from these people and looking for a way out of the town. I remember going into the small food store and the people staring at me. I went into the bar looking for something or someone... I'm not sure... but everyone was staring at me again making me very nervous. I went back out to the street and the sheriff of the two came up to me wanting to know what I was doing there. Frightened, I ran away still holding this tiny baby in my hands. This one older woman said I could hide in her house but it was filthy. She took me up to a bedroom but the mattress was on the floor and covered in urine. I went running out of the house and then I woke up.

So this may indicate, that your thoughts at the moment are very much connected to what other people think, their opinions! Our style, our confidence, what we like about ourselves, this can be shown in our clothes, choices of colour etc. So its about how you see them (other people) and yourself. It may also be asking you to look at your own feelings of self worth. Dirt can also imply, some psychological problem. Anything that has a negative connotation, or elicit feelings of guilt. A car in dream symbology, is an aspect of you, your personal energy. The car in the dream is rusted. Is this rusted, as in ceased up and not working properly. This could be a reflection of your own energy at the moment. Do you feel, slow, sluggish, unable to function properly?

In the dream you hold a fully formed baby. A baby in dream symbology, represents new birth within the self. New aspects of you coming into being. It can also mean the birth of new idea's. So try to be aware of any new opportunities that may come your way. The baby is also symbolic of untapped potential, so if you are thinking of starting something new, a new creative project, a new hobby or interest. This symbolism suggests it will be very positive and successful for you.

Your protective attitude towards your baby, is showing that there is a part of you that is afraid for your baby. You feel the need to protect it from those in the town. So again, this is saying to me, there is something new and special coming into your life. You are worried, that the opinions of others, may harm or affect the way you think about it. If you understand what I mean!!

You don't like being stared out, this makes you feel self conscious and vulnerable. Are you like this in your waking life? You look for refuge, and so look to an older women for that. She may represent an older wise feminine influence in your life, or she may be an aspect of you. Your wiser, higher self. The house, you would go to for refuge, is dirty too. So to me, the one place in your waking moments you would go to for help, has bad associations for you.

Bedrooms represent rest, dreams, the unconscious and sensual feelings. The bed is the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious. A return to the womb, a place of safety. The bed also represents the special relationship we have with ourselves on many different levels. Expression of self and of individuality.

The bed in this dream is covered in urine. Now on the surface, this may seem to be a negative thing. You would recoil from it in waking time. But in dream symbology, seeing urine in dreams is about 'releasing'. Releasing emotional tension. A cleansing if you will.

I would say, that what this part of the dream is saying to you, is that by facing that which you fear, and resolving any negative feelings associated with it. Will help you to release all the pent up emotional feelings that you have inside. It is what you need to do, to cleanse yourself and to start afresh.
