Hello Lavender, Welcome to the dream board.. I am happy to look at your friends dream for you. Now this dream as with all dreams is multi layered. There is the symbology of the dream, there is the fact that the dreamer is a fireman, so his daily life is bleeding into the dream. There is the associations with his job and the fact that in real life, he tried to rescue a little girl from a burning car and failed. So there is a lot going on within this dream, so I will try to interpret it as best as I can. The symbology of the dream.. A car is symbolic of the dreamers personal energy, his daily physical life. He is stood outside of the car looking in. As if he is watching a re enactment of a experience he has had. He is there as a Fireman, a fireman in dream symbology represents, guidance from the higher self. It is part of the self that works on cleansing and purification, eliminating negative beliefs and attitudes. The car is on fire, fire represents the life force within. The holy spirit, purification and cleansing of all belief systems, so that we can open up to a higher knowledge. The little girl, the child represents aspects of the self, such as vulnerability, innocence, openness, flexibility and playfulness. Now on one level, in this dream, the dreamer is reliving a very painful experience. One in which he may also be experiencing, guilt at being unable to save the little girl. A kind of post traumatic stress dream. On another level, the dream, is also a message from his higher self. As a fireman, he has his own inner guidance to help him work through this difficult time. Fire is a very powerful cleansing energy, it takes old beliefs and negative energy and transforms it. What I think this dream is saying, is that use this experience and learn from it. The dreamer did everything that was humanely possible to save this little girl. Sometimes we need to just accept, that there are some things that we cannot change the outcome of. A sequence of events started, long before he came upon the scene so to speak. He is outside of the car looking in, this may indicate, that what has happened to him as given him a sense of detachment from his life and a feeling of unreality. The car is on fire, so it is trying to change this feeling for him, by transforming it, burning away this sense of detachment, to help him reconnect properly on all levels. The little girl is also an aspect of him, his innocence and his vulnerability. She is reaching out to him, this is a symbolic way of saying to him. Do not let go of this very important aspect of himself. Do not let life's painful experiences and heartache, take the magic out of his life. I do not think for one moment that the little girl in the fire, is lost and in need of rescuing. That little darling would have been scooped up and transported away in the arms of loved ones already in the world of spirit. She will be nurtured, protected, loved and watched over, as she continues to live and grow in spirit. Those are only my spiritual beliefs, but I feel in my heart, and in my own experiences of spirit and life after death, that this is true. So for me the little girl in the car, is the innocence and vulnerability of your friend. Maybe he lost some of that when the accident happened, I don't know. Only he knows, as this is his dream. Please tell your friend Lavander, this is only my interpretation of his dream. To only take from it, that which resonates or is meaningful to him and to leave the rest. If he would like to ask me any questions about it, I will be happy to answer if I can. Love and light Kaz
