A Dream

I had a dream of being in my car during the daytime. I drove to the newspaper box to pick up our newspaper. I backed the car to turn into the driveway but instead, the car went into a deep ditch across the road. The car was almost on its top. At first, I thought the car was filling with water but then the scene changed to no water going inside. Our car has electric car door locks and I knew I couldn't open the cars doors. (I don't know why I came to that conclusion). It became dark (there was no time frame) and when a car or semi truck would drive by, I would flash my headlights hoping they would see me and report it to the authorities so I could be helped. I don't know the amount of time that went by but a man walked to my side of the car, opened the door and asked if I was all right. I said I was okay and I didn't seem to be upset. That was the end of the dream. When I woke up, the dream stayed with me. Most of the time, I never remember my dreams.

Okay, firstly, Hi and welcome to the site. What a wonderful dream. I will analyse the best I can using capitals to comment.

I had a dream of being in my car during the daytime. FIRSTLY, IN THE CAR, IS IN YOUR NORMAL ROUTINE, AND GOING SOMEPLACE MEANS IN LIFE GOING TO A PARTICULAR DESTINATION - SAY TRYING TO "GET THERE" IN YOUR LIFE - DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? I drove to the newspaper box to pick up our newspaper. NEWS - TRYING TO GET NEWS OF SOMETHING IMPORTANT - SAY YOUR DREAM MIND TELLING YOU THERE IS A MESSAGE TRYING TO GET THROUGH TO YOU FROM YOUR GUIDES? I backed GOING BACKWARDS - I.E. COULD YOU BE RUNNING AWAY FROM THIS MESSAGE, WHICH SEEMS TO KEEP CROPPING UP - LOOK FOR SYNCHRONICITIES IN YOUR LIFE AND YOU WILL KNOW. the car to turn into the driveway HOME AND SAFE? but instead, the car went into a deep ditch across the road. IN OTHER WORDS, YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE SAFE BUT YOU CRASHED - IS THIS YOUR LIFE, IS THERE AN ELEMENT OF SCARINESS IN IT SAY A DECISION TO MAKE OR SOMETHING YOU ARE UNSURE OF?The car was almost on its top. IN OTHER WORDS IN YOUR DREAM YOU FEARED YOU WERE STUCK AND YOU KNEW THERE WAS NO WAY OUT - QUITE LITERALLY YOUR DREAM MIND IS TELLING YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO FACE THIS SOMETHING IN YOUR REAL LIFE (I don't know why I came to that conclusion). BUT YOU DID SO YOU KNOW IT IS REAL. It became dark IN OTHER WORDS YOU LOST YOUR WAY (there was no time frame) and when a car or semi truck would drive by, I would flash my headlights ASKING FOR HELP OR TRYING LITERALLY TO ILLUMINATE YOUR PROBLEM AND BRING IT TO THE APPROPRIATE ATTENTION TO DEAL WITH IT hoping they would see me and report it to the authorities IS IT SOMETHING TO DO WITH OFFICIALDOM? so I could be helped. I don't know the amount of time that went by but a man walked to my side of the car, opened the door and asked if I was all right. I said I was okay and I didn't seem to be upset. IN OTHER WORDS WHEN SOMEONE COMES ALONG AND OPENS YOUR DOOR TO SHOW YOU THE WAY YOU WILL BE HAPPY - I.E. NOT UPSET. YOU SIMPLY NEED SOMEONE TO SHOW YOU THE WAY. That was the end of the dream. When I woke up, the dream stayed with me. Most of the time, I never remember my dreams. THE DREAM STAYED WITH YOU SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU ARE BEING SHOWN SOMETHING IMPORTANT.

I would go so far as to say my friend this is a crossroads dream. Opening the door is very relevant and showing you the way. As to what your problem is, I would say that you are being asked to make some kind of work or career decision involving travelling, driving, or moving. Hi Lizzie and thanks for analyzing my dream!

My life is now going in the direction of retiring in January of 2008. I have a meeting in November of this year to finalize my retirement plans. That will be important news!

In going backwards...twelve years ago, I did "run away" IE I quit a job that I liked but HAD to leave because it was emotionally draining. I think about the job every now and to this day try to avoid anyone I knew from there. I thought I would be there until I retired but just couldn't do it. I didn't think there was a way out but with my husband's and a certain friend's support, I left. I was afraid to leave the job because of insurance and much less money would be coming in. The job was with a law enforcement agency so yes, had to do with officialdom.

After I left that job, 3 weeks later I found another job and was and still am happy there. The friend I mentioned earlier pushed me into going to this place to apply for the position...so she did show me the way.

After retirement, I'll still be too young to sit in a rocking chair on the porch and watch the traffic go by so I plan on finding another line of work in driving the disabled to their workplace.
