I had this dream a few years ago and until now I have not really grasped it's meaning, but the experience of the dream was so vivid that it has really sticked to me as one of my most memorable dreams.
I was together with family members in a square shaped roman type of a hotel, with an inner court. My mother hid her golden bridal jewels and my aunt Nejat (which is an arab name for deliverance) spoke out loude where the gold was hidden. I felt angry about her naivity. Then a thief in the neighbourhood heared it. The family then went away leaving the golden jewels and my cousin Zuhair (which means the luminous) who had a broken leg behind in the hotelroom. In our absence the thief stole the gold and hanged my cousin Zuhair. When the family came back to the room we were joined by a woman who seemed our guide. When we saw what had happened we immediately decided to escape.
We were then in some sort of desert. The woman then apeared to be some sort of warrior or priestess. We saw two roads, one was tough, roadless deserted landscape, the other was a wizard of oz type of yellow coloured road. The woman asked a Celtic male warrior king who was training his fighters about which road to take. We chose the yellow coloured roud. The road felt great to walk on and I picked up a yellow powedery stone from that road and I thought about the road being cut from stones.
Then we saw something beautiful. Then I remembered that we were searching for the small girl and a woman (who seemed to be the same woman as our guide) who were kidnapped. What we saw was a beautiful indigo coloured rock that had three carvings.
The first carving was om the right of the rock which showed a small simple figure of the complete body of a woman, it was made by a man called Martin the heart (who is a writer of childrens books in my country). On the left of the rock was a carving made by the woman, which was bigger and more eloquent than the first one, but was only the buste of a woman. On top of the two carvings was the biggest and most impressive carving made by the kidnapped girl. It depicted an abstract womans head with in the center of the forehead a glowing blue-indigo diamond which seemed to contain the whole ocean and whick struck me by it's aliveness. The tree carvings formed somekind of trinity with the head on top.
Then someone seemed to tell us, perhaps a message of the rock itself, that this work of art would change at night, then we would see the deeper more sad part of the artwork. It would change colour and would became the same rusty red colour of the desert and the white chalk stripe that devided the head would show a different patern of the head.
We felt that we were walking on the right path when we saw the indigo carvings and the stunning luminousity of the blue diamond gave me an emotional feeling of divinity as such strong that I woke up.

Hi Sunpuerh,
Actually I still do not really know what the dream wanted to tell me.............I think it perhaps has to do with my inner child, because the girl who was kidnapped resembled me when I was 7 years old.....

Hello Salima, Welcome to the dream board.. This is a very detailed dream which tells me that the quality of the recall you had of it shows that the dream has a very strong message for you. It is full of rich symbolism and is very complex, and can have many meanings on different levels. I will do my best to give you an overall interpretation. If you can remember the feelings you had when you awoke from the dream this too can add to its meaning. When we dream of our family it can indicate a need for security, the sense of security that being surrounded by familial love brings. In the dream your Mother is significant, thus the need for the maternal, nurturing love. The Hotel is similar to the home, house in dream symbolism, this is YOU. The mansion of the soul, its rooms representing aspects of you. It has an inner courtyard, centre which I feel represents the hidden inner aspect of your psyche. The golden bridal jewels are representative of the treasures of the mind and spirit. Hidden treasures, gold is symbolic of the Christ light again heightening the spiritual aspect of the treasures. As these treasures are referred to as bridal, it brings into the interpretation, the marrying together of male and female aspects of your self. Within this coming together lies the great treasure and the benefits that it will bring you on your spiritual path. A thief, is something or someone that steals away something personal from the dreamer, often perceived as energy. On an unconscious level you may be fearful of having this energy taken from you. Either by the distractions of life or by people who can have a negative affect on you. This could be in your self esteem, or by trying to take you away from your chosen path in life. Your Aunt's name is deliverance, in speaking out loud where the treasure was hidden, she was simply trying to draw attention to that which is hidden, bringing it to the surface. On another level, is she someone in waking life, is prone to talking too much, and betraying confidences. Not necessarily in a malicious way, but in a gossipy way as some are prone to do. If you are a very private person, it would upset you having your personal and private things drawn attention to. Especially if you fear losing something very precious. The rest of this paragraph, simply underlines your anxiety about. Whatever you feel about your own inner personal and spiritual growth there is a part of you that feels that it is very fragile and needs to be protected. Maybe even hidden away. Nothing can be taken from us without our consent. This goes for your own personal energy, please remember that.. The women who appears in the dream as a guide, is you, your own personal guide, or Higher self. The desert, can have two meanings, the first is that it can be a place for spiritual rejuvenation. There are no distractions and there is a sense of great space. The second, is that it can be a place of desolation and want. Indicating water, rejuvenation is needed to create growth. But in your case, I feel it is the first meaning rather then the second, due to the archetypal aspects of yourself you meet while you are there. Archetypal figures are higher aspects of the psyche. The warrior princess is the strong female assertive aspect of your personality. The Wizard, symbolises the magic and inner knowing in you, the part of you that has a deep interest in the hidden and the mystical. The celtic male warrior king is your strong male assertive side, one who likes to take the lead and rules. These are incredibly powerful images and would say to me that you have within you a lot of personal strength, leadership qualities, combined with an deep desire to learn and grow academically but also in an esoteric way and you feel things intuiatively without needing to depend on gleaning knowledge purely through the pages of a book. It may also bring into play experiences brought through from past life experiences. Again, there is so much here on so many levels. But only you can say what feels right for you, my words are only signposts and thoughts for you to think about to take on board or disregard as you feel is right or wrong. There are two roads ahead of you, one is tough, the other is paved and yellow. Yellow symbolises peace and the way is smooth. The other is desolate and rough. Now on the surface, it would appear that the smooth yellow road is for you. But then do not ignore the other. Often the most difficult path can at the end provide the most rewarding one as the many lessons learned can be enriching in ways we could not imagine. But it could also be your minds way of showing you very clearly that of the two roads you may be considering in your life at the moment. One path is easy and the other will be difficult. Only you have the answer to this.. The small girl, is an aspect of you, your inner child you may call her. But she symbolises the childlike innocent trusting quality that you have within you. We all do, throughout our lives. With her is the older women guide. The higher self, taking the hand of the innocent trusting child within, guiding towards growth.. The indigo coloured rock may be a crystal. My thoughts are drawn to the Amethyst stone. Which is one of my favourites. It is a stone of the higher chakra's the crown chakra. It symbolises royalty, spiritual growth and insight and peace. The first carving of a women, is you. The feminine...Martin the heart you connected to her. The heart is symbolic of love..connecting with love could be in the higher spiritual way as in unconditional love for all as well as love for self. The second symbol the bust again this area is directly linked to the heart chakra/area and the third has the shape of a diamond on the brow, the diamond represents the many facets of the pure soul and self. Every facet represents the learning experiences in your life that must be honed and polished. The blue and indigo colours symbolising spirituality for blue and healing, Indigo symbolising spirituality and divine protection. The tree symbolises individual growth. Roots are the foundation, trunk represents the backbone and source of kundalini power and strength. Limbs are talents and abilities, opportunities for self expression. The leaves are the many manifestations of your gifts. The sense of it being like the Trinity to you, is the bringing together of the Mind, Body and Spirit. As I have said earlier Salima, there is an incredible amount of symbology in this dream. I hope I have done it justice. I would say that the overall message of this dream is telling you that you have within you great potential for spiritual growth. You are being shown on so many levels what you need to do to move forward to develop. You have great inner strength and must not allow your fears to hold you back. You have the ability to draw together and balance harmoniously the mind, body and spirit. Work on bringing together your male and female side so that they work for you. There is such a strong sense of peace, love and spirituality around you and you have your own inner guide and higher self to help you along the way. Trust in that and make the time to go within to find the peace and silence to listen to the wise words she has to say. This is only my interpretation of your dream Salima, please only take from it that which is meaningful and resonates with you and simply leave the rest. Love and light Kaz

img64.imageshack.us/img64/764/dreamofinnerchild.jpgThis is a simple painting I made of a fragment of my dream. The colours in the dream were much more intense, especially the diamond seemed alive in the dream like the ocean and full of aliveness and light, not to be compared with anything I saw in real life. About the rusty red deserted land; I have visited the exact same desert in an other dream, about a few months sooner. That dream went like this. I was in a museum and was guided by a western scolar with a beard, then came a ghandi looking indian man with only a white cloth around him who also wanted to say something about the exebitions. Then the western scolar told me I had to ignore the indian man because he was not official and just scum. I did what the guide said. Then later I was in the deserted land and I saw the indian man there. Immidiately the indian man started to throw stones at me and I woke up. I had after the indigo rock dream an other one. This time I was a beautiful woman and I was to marry a very powerfull man, who was a mix between stalin and saddam and who reigned over a great empire, like the Tsar empire of old times. We were deeply in love and would marry. He was heritor of a great empire and lived in a big palace. Then there was somekind of reception and the secratary of the Tsar was very jealous of me, because she wanted to marry him, and she began telling lies about me. But before she started to tell the lies, I excused myself and began to run. I passed the Tsars bodyguards and was on the run because I know of the cruelty of the tsar. Suddenly my clothes changed with me from princess garments to poor man 's clothes, and I made the knot of my hair loose. I felt an immense power coming from me and became somekind of superwoman. Once I was outside I jumped like I was a spiderwoman, and ignored gravity. Then it seemed like I had no body any more, just brains. I hid in the water of a lake, where some teenagers with a dog found me and took me home, to the kitchen. I heared many voices saying that I was developping myself more and more, as they said this I saw my brain growing more and more, becoming more whole. The teenagers would bring me to a safe place where I would be helped. I had been having these dreams when I was struggling at university. I was doing law and felt unsatisfied with the factory type of education and felt out of my place. Finally I decided to quit the university after I became sick of a hernia. Now I am planning to do something about reforming education to something more creative, or holistic. I want to do research about it and write articles on the topic.

Dear Kaz,
By the way my own interpretation of the dream was that I thought it wanted to tell me that I was holding on to somethin I thought was of value, the bridal jewels of my mum, but that the real treasure was the rock carving of the little girl inside me, the diamond.
I thought that perhaps this had to do with me needing to be more selfexpressing and to let go of my fear of holding onto things that I believe are valuable like the bridal jewels or the university diploma in my real life........but I think the dream had much more archaic components to be just that, so Kaz I am very thankfull for the explanation of the spiritual components of the dream.
with a warm handshake,
Salima
