What Makes Us So Special?

Everyone everywhere who feels a spiritual calling may sometimes question their beliefs and their faith and ask themselves "what makes us so special?" Why do babies die in Africa with no food or catastrophes happen......there have been countless explanations put forward to say why this is so.

But I say we are not better. We are worse, in fact, if we think we are better then anyone else. We are worse people if we cannot show compassion and love to all humans and animals sharing the planet with us. We have to wake up out of a haze of love and specialness and realise that true spirituality is about giving and loving and sharing with all the human race and not just feeding your own ego about how wonderful you are. I think some people feel that specialness is all there is to being spiritual - this is not so.

I was feeling down today until I saw the sunshine and resolved that the whole world was special and I was not. I am only me and if that is not good enough, well, I cant be anyone else, can I?

thanks David. When I wrote that, I was feeling very down because my partner doesnt feel the way I do spiritually. Dont get me wrong, we are soul mates, its just that he feels spiritually should be natural and normal and not something you put on like a coat. I hope you have a wonderful day and share your light with everyone you meet. I know I will try to.
