my daughters dream

My daughter keeps having dreams about men breaking into her house ,sometimes through the window ,sometimes hiding in the closet.. Her husband is always sleeping or away in these dreams . She says they are so scary they wake her up and when she goes back to sleep she will have another dream like it . Sometimes they have guns and she always has to protect her children .

any ideas why she keeps having these dreams?

The house in dreams is often identified as representing the dreamer themselves. Just as we are multi faceted creatures with different emotions and desires so a house consists of inter connecting rooms each with its own particular function.

Now your daughter keeps dreaming of men breaking into her house, climbing in thru a window or hiding in a closet. To dream of a man in a dream usually represents an ideal man but it can in some instances also represent the masculine side of our personality. Or accepted masculine characteristics such as aggression, dominance, leadership qualities. In this instance these men are threatening and carry guns. She is feeling very threatened by them. In the dream her husband is always away or asleep and not aware of what is going on. My feeling is that this indicates that she feels alone and very vulnerable. Does she feel that she can rely on her partner in real time. Does she feel that she has to suppress the stronger more assertive side to her nature. Is she afraid of this side of herself..?? Lots of questions here..

Mothers are always very protective of their children and this can often come into the dream scape if in real life again we feel threatened or if she is worrying particularly about her children. Is she actually afraid of being burgled. Has this experience actually happened to her. In certain parts of the world, armed robbery, burglary does happen. She can do things to put her mind at ease anyway, by checking the general security of her home.
