Water

Hello -

the last couple of nights I have been dreaming a lot about water, for example:

- being on a ship that is flooding with water
- swimming in shark infested waters
- emergency landing a passenger aircraft in water (my best friend was the pilot and I was First Officer - lol)

Is there any significance to this pattern of being surrounded by water?

Hi Timmy,

The significance of water in dreams is usually related to the emotions!!!! When we are overwhelmed by water, or swamped by water it usually signifies that our emotions are overwhelming us or we feel out of our depth, the depth in which we feel safe.

Sharks are predators of the sea and maybe you feel that you are surrounded by people you cannot trust. Or have been, our dreams are our subconscious mind trying to deal with our daily lives. Any outer conflict will reflect in the inner mind, and the human psyche has a rich treasure trove of dream symbolism to drawn on to give a face to its fears.

When you dream of flying an airplane that is the speed and the vehicle in which you are traveling thru your life. Flying a plane means that you have the ability to rise up and fly above your problems. Allowing you to see things from a higher view, yes, your plane did make a safe emergency landing. So you are managing to sit above the water safely. I would say that although you may feel as if you emotions may swamp you, you do have this ability to "keep your head above the water" an old expression, which I think fits your situation. You have that mental strength to see this difficult time through safely. Its interesting though that the Pilot of the plane was your friend and you are the first officer. This would indicate that at this moment in time you may be being led by your friend on your life's path. Or maybe you are leaning on her..being first officer means' you are not without power in this situation, but u are more being lead then leading!!

This is just my own thoughts on this Timmy, simply take what resonates with you and ignore the rest..
