A couple of weeks ago a little mouse scurried in a friend's house. To the horror of his sister, and the laughter of his mother and him, they started a rat hunt - that ended in the rat being squashed under a hitting shoe.
A couple of nights ago I dreamt a big big rat (the size of a small poodle dog) was in my house. My friend told me "Shoot vinegar at it, it will die" [this friend has an organic orchad and uses all kind of natural stuff to kill the pests from his tomatoes]. So I grab a plastic bottle with vinegar, conner the rat (that suddenly looks a bit nice, like a little pliglet] and point the vinnegar at it. The poor little darling gets the bottle with its mouth and starts sucking, as it was a bib! I then lead it out the front door (it is strangely beautiful outside, say a sunny day in a park) , throw the vinegar bottle and the rat dashes after it. As I close the door I wonder if I have not really solved the problem: perhaps the rat may come back, or some neighbour will have to deal with it.
There! The dream was all fun, when I tell it. But might there be something else in it? A message or something?

Hi Ric, what an interesting dream, I will see what I can do to try and shed some light on it for you... Rats, and other small rodents enjoy mixed symbolism. Rats and other rodents usually elicit a strong response. As they carry disease. Associated with treachery, dream rats may indicate that a friend is working against you, or that some is taking advantage of you!! They may also feature in dreams as a warning that you should be aware of tangling with unscrupulous persons. If you dream about killing a rat, it stands for your ability to defend yourself against these threats. But on the other hand.. The Chinese year of the rat promises wealth, expansion and positive actions. By shooting vinegar at this "Rat" it may be that you are trying to defend yourself in the most peaceable way you can think of, as you are by nature a peace loving and passive person. Its interesting that you say the rat seems to change and appear nice like a little piglet..Pigs suffer from a mixed reputation, but generally porcine metaphors are unflattering, you may be accused of eating like a pig, or behaving like a swine..lol Chinese astrology say people who are born in the year of the pig are regarded as honest, good humored and sensual. So you seem to have an almost ambivalent attitude to this Rat, pig. I think it could be that the qualities of this person who is close to you may be a mixture of these two animals. The weather is sunny and very beautiful outside, this indicates that your dream scape seems, open, positive and without fear. So this dream doesn't seem to create much anxiety for you whereas for someone else it might. I think you have become complacent with a situation, which is potentially harmful for you. You throw the bottle for the rat who dashes off and leaves you. It is for now distracted. There maybe an element of your nature, that you are not comfortable with. You feed it, but hide from it, or disown it, its complicated, I'm sure I'm not making much sense here. For now, whatever or who ever it is that you are not facing or dealing with has gone away, but as you say in your dream, the problem has not gone, just gone away, for now....and someone else may have to deal with it. It is human nature, to wear many faces, have qualities that are a mixture of good and bad, maybe it is part of your life or work to have to deal with this!!! Well Ric, you have definitely taxed me, and an unusual but interesting dream, this is simply an interpretation of mine, you must take from it what resonates with you, or simply smile and disregard it.. Love and light Kaz

Great to have a different point of view! What I keep for your interpretation is that there is something that I am not fully solving, and it has to do with this friend of mine. Turning foe into friend is just with way. In my dream, I just turned the foe into something less harmfull, and put distance. Way to go, yet. Thanks!!!
