Attunements.

For the purpose of this discussion, I have to refer to Reiki, as it is the only form of energy healing I have any experience of.
Attunements have fascinated me in that, I'am not sure, if anyone has a suitable explanation for what actually happens.
The best been that your energy field is tuned into the reiki energy, so it is there, to be switched on when you need it.
Sounds good, only Reiki can flow without switching it on and even without intention.
From my own experience, I can honestly say, dealing with Reiki you are dealing with spirit, the reason I say this is on account of my first attunement experience, where a  powerful energy stood in front of me and a much smaller energy seemed to join my energy field from the right side.
This coupled with the actions of the Reiki master blowing in your face at the time of attunement, got me thinking, is this not similar to what happens when a shaman blows the spirit of a spirit animal into the client, are we having a spirit ally attached to our energy field.

One morning I woke up, lying in bed on my back, I sensed a lovely small energy directly above my head, it just hovered there, then slowly moved over my wife's head, who was lying beside me fast asleep, stayed there for a minute or so and returned, hovering directly above me, then in a flash, as if it had been sucked in with force, seemed to enter my energy field.
The second this happened the thought, " a large part of her, doesn't want to get well," entered my mind, quickly followed by, what the hell was that, have I just been possessed.
I remember thinking, as I lay there, if it wasn't such a wonderful energy, I would be worried, and just fell back asleep.
Was this energy the same as that encountered at the time of the first attunement, I do believe so,
hence the idea, in receiving attunements are we receiving a spirit ally into our energy field?

As I have only received 'attunements' through Reiki, that is my only point of reference for this discussion also. Though having said that, I think it's only Reiki that has attunements. If anyone knows of another healing modality that uses them, I'd love to hear about it.

The way Reiki Attunements were explained to me by my Reiki Master. Is that each attunement activates a chakra, opens it up to receive and transmit the healing energy. For those who are unfamiliar with the chakra's. The chakra's are the energetic points of power on the physical human body. The crown, brow, throat, heart etc. For further information on this see other posts on this board. The source of the energy in Reiki, is referred to as The Reiki Masters. Also in the hands the healing discs are activated. I know that once open to this energy, many have described a change or evolving of abilities they already had. Some describe being able to hear, see and feel spirit, whereas before attunement they were not able to. More often the changes and experiences described are slower growing. Moving at a pace that is more comfortable to the attunee, rather than anything sudden. So I would say your description of energy, feeling, seeing your guides, was the something you were already sensitive to. The attunements simply facilitated a speeding up of development. Having said that though, many can experience a going backward as well as forward. This may be because there are other aspects of growth that need working on, rather than the 'bells and whistles' of something grander on a psychic/metaphysical scale, if that makes sense.

I found it curious what you said about the energy that hovered over your wife while she slept. I have seen those balls of energy you describe. Have reached out and felt them swirl around my hands. It was a gentle experience, almost playful. Some say that they are the early manifestation of spirit, and can vary in colour. I have seen pink and blue. I thought it was the universal healing energy I was seeing.. I don't know. I didn't hear anything from them, I seem to connect more on the feeling sense. I felt peaceful and happy. It seems to me that the message you received about your wife was a little ambiguous. To say "a large part of her doesn't want to get well" and just leave it at that, seems a little odd. Usually when spirit share information, even if it's simply on a 'intuitive level', there is an understanding received, a way to help. Rather than, for want of a better word, bald statement. I'm sure it's much more complicated than that. A deeper issue, if it's true at all. Not that I doubt what you heard, but I am always discerning when it comes to spirit/energy interaction. When we are open, particularly in the beginning with no thoughts of our own auric protection, we can be open to anything and everything. Did you tell your wife what you were given?

Yes I can understand your point of view.
My wife and I have talked at length about her illness and what we consider to be part of the cause, both on an emotional level, spiritual and physical.
While not claiming to be experts on the matter by any means, we feel we know the incident which started the ball rolling, what built up emotions came from that and what she has been carrying all her life, and the reasons behind it all, the esoteric explanations for every illness she has experienced also support this.
I'am aware there maybe many more considerations which we do not even know of, that have bearing.

But to cut a long story short, we formed our own opinion, the message I received that morning was confirmation in part of what we had thought, and was received as in, we have more work to do on an emotional level.
But standing on its own, I would have come to the same conclusion as yourself, I'am very guarded, as in what messages I accept from spirit, maybe that's why, they never tell me much.

HI Robert... reading over this post from last week. here is my two cents from my understanding... Attunements are somewhat similar to what is called initiations in other spiritual practices and traditions. They vary and happen on the spiritual path besides just in healing as in topic here.

It is a quickening of energy within a person when one has reached a certain stage. We humans are multidimensional being and we work with many other being of consciousness on multiple inner planes of consciousness. Most are not directly aware of this spiritual interactions, some feel a presence, an energy, some during an attunement experience, others in dreams or meditation etc. etc (it varies depending on the amount of conscious awakening on different levels of consciousness of that person).

Other beings, some called devic or angelic helpers at various stages, fellow inner workers or guides of various types all work with energy -- the majority at this stage of evolution work inwardly and silently in their own realms. But are very much part of overall processes of life and our energy fields.

Each system has many of these being on all levels taking part in the process when one gets into healing or a specific spiritual path or school. Nothing takes place in a vacuum.
