“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” ~ Aristotle “I have been and still am a seeker, but I have ceased to question stars and books; I have begun to listen to the teaching my heart whispers to me.” ~ Herman Hesse “The Buddhists say there are 149 ways to god. I'm not looking for god, only for myself, and that is far more complicated.” ~ Jeanette Winterson “Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.” ~ Lewis Carroll

"There's a preacher out there warned me about Satan; Could be that he knows him, Cause' he acts like he's possessed. I said "Hey man, let's hear about God-realization For a change." He said "We ain't got time for that; First you must hear the evils of fornication." "Oh you take a horse to the water but You can't make him drink..."

Horse To The Water from The Concert For George. And remember, when listening to Sam Brown, the louder the better. (Nobody said self-realization was quiet.)

Hello Baangus,
This quote I can totally relate to.
I started off on my spiritual journey like this...just following my heart and inner guidance...then I progressed onto other teachings and writings only to discover that I knew deep down the truth that always has been within, slumbering contently...stirring from time to time...awaking briefly and then to sleep once again
We have all heard of the “AWAKENING” and discussed at great length and detail on our own personal ‘awakenings’ but I have come to the conclusion that we have not one awakening but several right throughout our entire lives. I think we reach certain milestones in life and poof we have that amazing AHA moment where everything just seems to slot into place and WE REMEMBER.
We don’t always know how we know but the fact that we remember it when we should is a great comfort to me. I can slowly see parts of my life plan being revealed to me by myself (higher self) if that makes sense?!!! We are conundrums within a conundrum. I don’t know that we are to solve it or just to realise it, accept it and play with it. Sometimes I feel I’m on the verge of solving it only to be thrown into another challenge and then I must use all I have attained to start all over again.
Let know one fool themselves that the spiritual path is easy...but it can be as rewarding as it is frustrating...but truth is...I am enjoying the experience so much, which I think is part of the purpose.
Just some my thoughts friends.

My observations and experiences as well, and especially in relation to the role the higher self plays in all this. One thing for me though: I don't ever feel a need to 'solve it.' I couldn't say what it is that even needs solving anymore. I'm happy with my tiny, personal, everyday realizations and mini-epiphanies. That's solving the mystery to me, and it happens all day, every day, 24/7/365 except for leap years. Think about this for example, from a video I watched yesterday: -There are billions of planets and stars in our galaxy. -It would take us 200,000 years to travel across our galaxy at the speed of light. -There are tens of thousands of galaxies in our star cluster. -Beyond our star cluster are tens of thousands of star clusters and hundreds of billions of galaxies. -And that's just the observable universe. -We cannot know what lies beyond that, because light from beyond the observable universe has not yet reached us in the 13 billion years the Earth has been in existence. - In other words, light from beyond the observable universe has been travelling at 670 million miles per hour for 13 billion years, yet STILL hasn't reached Earth. There's a point one where our questions, queries, worries and beliefs about creation, god(s) and existence become a ridiculous and happy universe-laughing-with-us farce. After coming to that understanding, I saw that self-realization and the inner journey was the only logical (and sane) spiritual-search choice. Because who can begin to fathom Creation? I can't. And now I'm no longer trying to.

"I am trying to tell you that if you look inward, and study your own sacredness and creativity and blessedness, and joy and power, as closely as you study the sacred books of the gods, then you would realize that all those books of the gods were based upon the greater reality of the individual... the individual soul and therefore based upon your own reality. Do yourselves just honor."

Hi Baangus,
I said:
You replied with:
“There is nothing you can learn from as much as a problem you cannot fully solve. Unsolved problems can be some of the greatest tormentors, but also the greatest teachers. Unsolved problems keep the mind hungry and the eyes open.” –Jonathan Zap
I think this quote is the best explanation of what I was trying to convey in my previous comment, not that I see it as a problem but more of an enigma.

Hi cyberangel. I realized you probably meant that after reflecting upon it for a bit. The thing with me is I see self-realization and personal growth as two different things. We all work on and at times struggle with personal growth questions. That's understood.
Self-realization understandings on the other hand are, for me, a coming-to-consciousness and unveiling of the divine nature of the individual and of soul-spirit reality. That's what I meant to communicate with the Seth quote I posted today, shortly before you replied.

In our belief Self Realization is when Soul reaches the Soul Plan by Soul travel and sees what it realy looks like, the mind rembers the experience. The Soul Plane is the first Heven. One receives his mission in Eternity as a co-worker with God

Hello Vivian, It is lovely to meet you. Welcome to the forum. I agree with your words... they remind me of a quote by one of my favourite spiritual authors Marianne Williamson. She said "The spiritual path, is simply the journey of living our lives. Everyone is on a spiritual path; most people just don't know it.”I look forward to getting to know you, and reading your posts. Love and light Kaz

Self-Realization. The entering of Soul, into the Soul Plane, the first plane of the heavenly country, and there beholds Itself as pure SPIRIT, stripped of all materiality; Soul recognition on the Atma Lok, the fifth plane.,,, is our def
