Yellowstone, Coming Home « Thread Started on Mar 26, 2007, 2:01pm »
I was reading about John Denver earlier, about his life and how he died. I have liked his songs for many years as they are mainly spiritual and well song. I found the lyrics of the last song he wrote before he died in a plane crash. I wish to share them with my friends here.
Oh-ooo oh-ooo oh-ooo oh-ooo
Oh, the Yellowstone, Oh the buffalo free Oh, my brother the wolf, my lover the moon Oh, the little one, oh, the joy that I fell Oh, the love in my heart, a wilderness song
Oh-ooo 0h-ooo oh-ooo oh-ooo
Oh, the waterfall, Oh the river that runs Oh, my brother the wind, my sister the sea Oh, the ocean shore, oh the castles of stone Oh, the mountain top calling to me
Oh-ooo oh-ooo, coming home oh-ooo oh-ooo
Returning, forever returning, coming home Belonging, forever belonging, never alone
Oh, the mystery, Oh the dreaming of dreams Oh, my brother my own, my sister my own Oh, the tenderness, Oh, the longing for love Oh, the beautiful way, the sweet coming home Oh-ooo oh-ooo, coming home oh-ooo oh-ooo

This song has nothing to do with Grizzly Adams kaz. This was the last song John Denver wrote before his death. The Grizzly Adams theme tune was sang by Thom Pace.

When I grew up people would riddicule anyone that liked John Denver or similar, but when I first listened to him properly I fell in love with how he sang, he was a very spiritual man and his songs touch your heart. Maybe we need to unearth another John Denver in this new age, I wish I could sing and play the guitar, I would have a go myself. God Bless you all.

Hi Speed,
Yes, I am a big fan of John Denver, was really upset when he was killed. I remember it on the news. A big shock, his plane disappeared and they didn't find out for a couple of days what had happened to it.
My favorite John Denver songs, are Annie's Song,"You fill up my senses" that is an incredibly beautiful song about a man's love for his women/wife. I would love to be loved like that..but u could almost carry it over to a spiritual love for God...or maybe its just me that feels that..
I adored "Take me home" and "I'm going on a jet plane", and lots of others I can't remember now, but I do remember how his magical way with words, made almost every song he penned memorable.

Yes Leon, the lyrics to John Denver's "Yellowstone, Coming Home" are, truly, powerful. Especially, in light, of the fact that it was the last song he wrote before his physical departure. When reading the lyrics it reminded me of a Spirit in connection with nature and the words, "coming home" are loaded with meaning. I'm just curious as to how others on this board perceive existence after the physical death. In love and light..........Peggy
